TORAMBO was founded in Düsseldorf in 2009 to provide small and medium-sized businesses with reliable and efficient IT support. Nothing has changed about that in over 17 years.
The founder
Matthias Bak
It all started with a Commodore 64. The hobby became a passion and eventually a profession: Matthias gained experience in IT support and system administration at larger companies before founding TORAMBO in 2009.
Working for clients from different industries has shown that good IT has less to do with the latest technology than with reliability: systems that work, backups that can be restored, and a contact person who can be reached.
For him, technology is a tool to make processes simpler. He finds balance and new perspectives in photography.

The name
What is in the name TORAMBO.
- TORA
- Japanese for “tiger”: strength, courage and determination.
- AMBO
- from the Shona language of Zimbabwe, roughly “keep going”: the commitment to keep developing.
- MB
- the initials of founder Matthias Bak: personal responsibility and leadership.
- O
- “Operator”: TORAMBO does not just advise, it actively runs and looks after IT infrastructure.
